The largest humanitarian organization UNICEF started accepting donations at 9 cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, EOS, Stellar (XLM), Monero (XMR) and Dash. Digital assets you can donate directly or create for charitable purposes in the framework of the program “Game Chaingers”.
In the official appeal, UNICEF States that: "the blockchain Technology can make the world a better place! Cryptocurrency is a great opportunity to attract funding".
The UNICEF programme “Game Chaingers” was launched on 2 February 2018, with the support of the advertising Agency BETC. In the campaign took part 711 million users who manili cryptocurrency Ethereum on their computers. All the money raised was sent to help Syrian children.
After the successful launch of the program “Game Chaingers” management has decided to expand the list of supported cryptocurrencies and allow people to make donations directly. At the moment there are two options of care:
- Mining cryptocurrency. To get coins for charity, you must specify the address of the cryptocurrency wallet UNICEF in the software to display the earned coins to the account of the organization.
- Cryptoperthite. On the UNICEF website , you can choose 1 of 9 cryptocurrencies and translate the organization's digital assets.
In may this year the Australian branch of the seUNICEF has launched a campaign called “The Hopepage” (Page of hope). On the project website everyone can provide the computational power of their computer for mining crypto currency for charitable purposes.
